In true Colourpop fashion, when I ordered from their website I just had to get free shipping, so I put a few things in my cart to make it up to $30 – no surprise the stunning Disney collection helped get me there!
Color: Belle is a deep mauve-pink with warm undertones. It’s definitely on the neutral side in terms of a pink, but I don’t think I could say it’s a nude like I had originally thought when purchasing. Colourpop’s website describes it as a “rosy berry”, which I think is very accurate.
Finish: Despite the name of this lipstick being “creme”, I think the finish is closer to a satin-cream. It’s not as creamy looking as other bullet lipsticks, but there is a bit of shine so it’s not a flat matte either.
Packaging: The packaging of this lipstick is truly stunning – in all honesty, I mostly bought it for the packaging. The tube is a gold with a soft metallic finish, and the Disney princess’ signatures are across the entirety of the cap.
Applicator: This is a standard bullet lipstick, so application is pretty easy for me. The tip does seem to be slightly more pointy, so it was easy to get an even line.
Application: I found that the slightly pointed tip made it easier to get the edges of my lips in a straight line and there was minimal cleanup required. The actual lipstick is a bit stiff when applying, but I didn’t notice it skipping at all – just more pressure required. It is opaque in one swipe so there wasn’t a need for building up.
Transfer: Despite this being a standard bullet lipstick, I was amazed with the minimal amount of transfer. After initial application, the excess product that was on my lips did come off onto my coffee cup. However, after that product came off I didn’t notice much else.
There did seem to be a bit of color that transferred, but not chunks of product like the beginning, and it did come off onto my bread when eating a sandwich but again, it wasn’t anything horrible. I didn’t ever have a problem with it coming off on my chin.
Fading: The fading on this lipstick is surprisingly minimal. Even after the initial transfer, the appearance of the lipstick didn’t change at all and I found that after meals, unless they were very messy, I didn’t need to do touch-ups. Even after trying to wipe away all the product after a messy lunch, there was still a fair amount of color left on my lips, giving me the look of a lip stain.
Comfort: Typically a product that is long wearing has issues with comfort, but I thought that this remained incredibly comfortable throughout the entire wear, even when it had really faded and sunk into my lip lines. It’s very lightweight on the lips, which means that I didn’t feel it at any point and even would forget I was wearing lipstick.
Overall: I have basically nothing to complain about because this was a fantastic lipstick! I think it would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection considering the wearability and comfort. It’s been a while since I’ve felt so strongly positive about a bullet lipstick and this is definitely a line that I plan on picking up more from.
Price Point: For $8, I think this is an absolute steal! It’s actually more expensive because of the Disney collaboration, but if you’re a Disney fan like I am this is totally worth the extra 50 cents!
